Partnerable: How to Build Trusted Partnerships Others Hate to Be Without

Why should you read it?
A partner can stay signed up, stay in the reports and still stop recommending you. The dashboard looks healthy while partners quietly absorb the cost of slow answers, unclear authority and decisions made inside the vendor that they never see. When partner revenue disappoints, the usual response is to recruit more partners. Partnerable asks the question that comes first: are we actually worth partnering with? It is for leaders who suspect the numbers look better than the results feel, and who need a way to decide which partnerships deserve investment and when it is time to reconsider.
What is the book about?
Partnerable argues that partnerability is not mainly a set of channel practices. The mechanism beneath it is the safe transfer of commercial judgement between organisations without losing meaning, authority or consequence. The book starts before partner recruitment and continues beyond the signature, asking whether another organisation can depend on a company when the opportunity becomes valuable, the evidence changes or direct-sales pressure rises. It is written first for the CEO, founder or commercial leader who already has partner activity and no longer accepts visible activity as proof that the model is working. The structure moves from the Partnerability problem and the standard a partner story must meet, through the Four Disciplines (Evidence Discipline, Decision Safety, Truth in Time and Consequence Awareness), to building partnerability and deciding what deserves to scale. The back matter includes a Partnerability Field Guide with short checks for live partner decisions, the Transfer Test and a Partner Selection Guide, with decisions framed as Scale, Repair, Narrow, Learn or Stop.
Best takeaway
Do not scale a partner story beyond the evidence that supports it. Before recruiting more partners, ask how many of your current partners would invest in you again, knowing what they know now, and how many have already decided they wouldn't.
